Weeks 5 & 6 – Pender Harbour to Lund

The title really doesn’t include what this post is about, as it’s ALL about Princess Louisa Inlet.  We left Pender Harbour early on a drizzly, chilly morning two weeks ago, and we’re now in Lund on a drizzly, chilly morning!  In between, we spent 10 days in paradise.

The immense scale of Princess Louisa Inlet is hard to grasp. Consider that Happy Dance is moored at the dock in this photo!

The immense scale of Princess Louisa Inlet is hard to grasp. Consider that the cliffs are 7000′ straight up, and the water is over 1000′ feet deep! That white speck on the water is Happy Dance moored at the dock!

None of the superlatives I know can do any justice to the beauty and grandeur of Princess Louisa Inlet.  Having grown up in the PNW and traveled to many beautiful areas, I would still say that this is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.  Our timing was perfect; when we arrived, it had just snowed in the higher elevations and was still a bit chilly so the falls were lacy and subtle.  After a week of hot sunny days more and more falls appeared, and Chatterbox Falls started thundering and sending off clouds of the mist.

Amazing was pretty much the word for the week, so rather than try to describe it – I’ll try to show you!  The link below will take you to a slideshow of photos from our 10 days in Princess Louisa Inlet.  It’s about 7 minutes long, so sit back and enjoy!

Oh, and to update you on our schedule, we’re now in Lund, about to sail over to Campbell River where we’ll leave the boat while we fly to Portland for Greg’s graduation.  🙂
